Sport data and results

How are the player ratings calculated?

Player ratings on Cricket24 are calculated using a blend of data from live match statistics and player performance metrics. Depending on the competition, there can be dozens of stats included in the computation. This ensures that ratings reflect a player's impact on the game as accurately as possible.

Where can I find the player rating?

Player ratings are available for Football (over 175 competitions), Basketball (over 200 competitions), and Ice Hockey (over 20 competitions) on all our platforms (apps and web). You can find the ratings not just in the match lineups but also on player profiles where you can check the player's season average rating too.

My favorite team, player or league is not covered. Can you add it?

We strive to cover as many teams and competitions as possible. If your local team or competition isn't listed, it may be due to the unavailability of reliable information sources. We welcome your assistance in identifying trustworthy sources to enhance our coverage. Please share any relevant information through our contact form.

How often do you update the players' market values?

We update player market values regularly to reflect their current performance and market trends. These updates are based on data from various reputable sources.

What does the expected goals (xG) statistic mean?

Expected goals (xG) is a metric that shows how likely a shot was to result in a goal. It’s based on factors like the shot’s distance, angle, and the type of play. An xG of 0.5, for example, means there’s a 50% chance of that shot being scored.

How do you create live text commentary?

Live commentaries are created by our own editors or our partner editors for major competitions and automatically translated into all our supported languages. For minor or local competitions, live text commentary can sometimes be created by AI.

Why are some historical data, leagues or matches missing?

We strive to provide comprehensive coverage of sports events worldwide. However, some competitions or historical data may be missing due to challenges in sourcing reliable information for certain leagues or events. We continuously work to expand our coverage and welcome user suggestions to help us identify trustworthy sources for these competitions.

What does "FRO" mean?

“FRO” means “Final result only”. Events where we only provide the final result once the game is finished are marked this way. For these games we don't provide live score information.

How are you collecting the sports data and statistics?

For football, we use Opta as the primary data provider. For the 40+ other sports, it's a variety of providers and sources. Please note that if you see different stats or data elsewhere (e.g. UEFA or FIFA websites), it might be because they are using a different provider.
